Join us for this inspirering morning session about how the convergence of quantum technology and artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the life science sector.

You will gain valuable insights into the evolving technology landscape, hear from leading experts about quantum’s potential impact, and discover how forward-thinking companies are already preparing to leverage these game-changing innovations.

What’s in it for you?

• Discover how quantum technology and AI intersect in life science
• Learn from real-world case studies and practical applications
• Engage in dialogue with industry peers on quantum readiness

The event is arranged by The Danish Quantum Community, IT-Branchen and LIF (The Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry) with the support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Program

08.00: Arrival & Breakfast

08.30: Welcome by The Danish Quantum Community

08.40: Introduction to Quantum Technology within Life Science

Talk from Jakob Max Günther, Ph.D. from The Quantum for Life Centre at The University of Copenhagen (Department of Mathematical Sciences). The Quantum for Life Centre is an interdisciplinary research centre funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. By combining research in quantum physic, mathematics, chemistry and data science, the goal of the centre is to develop strategies for the quantum simulation of biomolecules, and to show proof-of-principle demonstrations of their main functioning on atom-based experimental platforms. This will contribute to the faster development of new drugs as well as speed up the computationally demanding tasks of analysing and interpreting large amounts of biological data – both essential to the medical industry of tomorrow.

09.00: Cases & Application

  • Case 1: A New Approach to Drug Discovery – Allan Grønlund, Co-founder and Head of Algorithms at Kvantify

Kvantify is a Danish company established in 2022. Their vision is to harness the transformative power of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Quantum Computing and make it available to businesses without expert knowledge. Kvantify have developed a computational drug discovery platform to help biotech and pharmaceutical companies improve the quality of the compounds they test in the lab by leveraging proprietary, high-speed, accurate physics-based methods.

  • Case 2: Accelerating Vaccine Design with Quantum Powered AI – Jesper Gretlund, Head of Business Development at Sparrow Quantum

Sparrow Quantum, was founded by quantum physics and technology professor Peter Lodahl, and is built on two decades of pioneering research at the Niels Bohr Institute. Today, they  are recognized as a key player in the quantum photonics revolution, providing essential single-photon components that drive quantum breakthroughs. Sparrow Quantum applies bespoke algorithms and specialist expertise to optimise customers’ drug discovery pipeline.

09:40: AI Supercomputer Gefion – How AI & Quantum is connected? Dr. Nadia Carlsten, CEO at The Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI)

Presentation by Dr. Nadia Carlsten – the CEO of DCAI – a company established to run and operate Gefion – Denmarks first supercomputer. DCAI´s mission is to lower the barrier to access the most advanced computing capabilities, and they work with customers from academia, startups, and enterprise to accelerate AI research and innovation. DCAI is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and by EIFO.

09:40: Wrap up & thank you for the today
