DQC is pleased to welcome QuNorth as a new partner!
QuNorth is an ambitious Nordic quantum initiative dedicated to advancing the region’s technological development. QuNorth was established earlier this year as a 50/50 joint venture by EIFO (Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund) and the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Together, they have committed an investment of €80 million to realize QuNorth’s core mission; to procure, build, and operate Magne, a level 2 quantum computer delivered by a partnership between Microsoft and Atom Computing.
QuNorth will work proactively to support researchers and industry in leveraging Magne – among other things by developing new applications across areas such as material science and chemistry related product development, and by helping to attract talent and new quantum investments to the Nordic region. QuNorth will also collaborate closely with other stakeholders involved in the development and commercialization of quantum research in the Nordic region, which is expected to also provide a European competitive advantage.
Recently, QuNorth appointed Ebba Carbonnier CEO. She brings extensive experience from both academia and industry, including her previous role as Director at the Swedish Quantum Life Science Centre, her contribution as co-author of Sweden’s national quantum strategy, and earlier work as a management consultant with Microsoft, AstraZeneca, and Ericsson.
